The XWA’s traditional Lord of the Ring returns for the first time in two years!
The Xtreme Wrestling Alliance, which has sustained a triumphant return since it went to a monthly iPPV model in January of this year, announced today that June and July will play host to the infamous tournament that has been a main-stay of the promotion since 2002. However, this year will be different as for the first time ever, the event will be split into not one, but two events- Lord of the Ring Part I: The Journey Begins and Lord of the Ring Part II: The Final.
The Lord of the Ring is a roster-wide tournament, where every single member of the XWA locker-room has a chance to win a shot at the Supreme XWA Championship, which they can then take whenever and where ever they want over a one-year period. Legendary stars such as DGX, Jericho Shaw, Smith Jones and EBR have all been previous winners, with current stars like Laurel Anne Hardy and Razer making their debuts during the last tournament. It has frequently been a kick-off point for various new feuds and storylines, a very recent example being the lovable Jack Jackson Jr.’s slow metamorphosis into the dreaded Jericho Shaw, where he would go onto to become the longest-reigning XWA World Heavyweight Champion of all time.
The XWA has begun accepting sign-ups, with currently as many as SIXTEEN expected to participate. If you are interested, visit their site for more, but we here at EWZine will have all the latest right here for you, including results and who the winner ends up being!
